In October, the city of Blumenau, in Santa Catarina, attracts lively tourists of every country to its Oktoberfest (Festival of Beer). Pomerode, in Santa Catarina and Gramado and Canela, in the mountains gauchos, seem true german postcards, with colonial breakfats, delicious sausages and German goodies. In Rio Grande do Sul, São Miguel's ruins and surroundings of Santo Ângelo, there is a 210 years site reminding the Jesuit missions in Brazil. Its strong region feeling offers a rich folklore, in the music and dances, together with the ubiquitous gaucho barbecue.
