The State of São Paulo is the most important economical and industrial center of South America, embracing an area of 247.898 km2, its inhabitants are called paulistas.
The state is full of beaches, centered by Santos. In the north direction, Guarujá, Caraguatatuba, Ubatuba and other; in the south direction, Praia Grande, Itanhaém, Peruíbe, Iguape and Cananéia.
Two islands should be known in the north coast: Island of São Sebastião where shine Ilhabela town.
Beautiful stays can be found, in fast trips to the mountainous area of São Paulo, like Campos de Jordão, and of the "waters" circuit as Atibaia, Serra Negra, Socorro, Lindóia, Aguas de São Pedro and Aguas da Prata.
The cities of Aparecida do Norte, with pilgrimages to Our Lady Aparecida's Basilica and the little Embu, close to São Paulo, are big tourist attractions.
For the nature lovers, the Devil's Cave or the one of Santana, are unforgettable.
The main interior cities, Campinas, Ribeirão Preto, Piracicaba, Sorocaba, Bauru and Jundiaí are huge economical centers, producing every kind of commodities. There is also São José dos Campos with its famous aeronautical industry.
The Area of Great São Paulo, with the Municipal districts of Guarulhos, Osasco and the famous ABCD, referring to Santo André, São Bernardo, Sào Caetano and Diadema compose the automobile industrial park of the State.
